Zoho implementation

Zoho Inventory implementation

Quick answer

NeX implements Zoho Inventory for traders, distributors and D2C brands that need stock across locations to match the books. We design the inventory process first, then configure items, warehouses, batch and serial tracking, reorder levels, transfer orders and sales channels, integrated with Zoho Books so every stock movement posts correctly.

Landed cost, done properly

Stock is often undervalued because freight, customs duty, clearing and handling are booked as expenses instead of being added to the goods they brought in. In Zoho you can load these logistics and other bills directly against the goods receipt. Their cost is then allocated across the items received, so inventory value, margins and cost of goods sold reflect the entire inward cost.

Process first

Most stock problems are process problems: goods leave without a document, transfers are posted days later, returns sit in a corner. In the Design stage we define who records each movement, when and against which document, and we write the SOPs for receiving, transfers, counts and dispatch before a single item is imported.

Frequently asked questions

When do we need Zoho Inventory rather than just Zoho Books?
Zoho Books already handles items, purchase and sales orders, and partial fulfilment of those orders. Add Zoho Inventory when you hold stock in more than one warehouse, need batch, expiry or serial tracking, pick, pack and ship orders, or sell through marketplaces or your own online store with orders flowing in automatically.
Can Zoho Inventory handle manufacturing?
Simple assemblies, yes. Zoho Books and Zoho Inventory handle them through composite items, where components are combined into a finished item and stock of both is updated. For production orders, job cards and shop-floor control, look at Zoho ERP.
Can freight and other inward costs be added to stock value?
Yes. Freight, customs, clearing and other logistics bills can be linked to the goods receipt, so their cost is spread across the items received and stock carries its full landed cost, not just the supplier's price.
Why doesn't our stock match the books?
The usual causes are movements recorded outside the system, transfers posted late or not at all, returns not received back, and costs such as freight left out of item cost. We fix the process and the configuration together.
